My name is Silas Lane. Silo for short. On Christmas Eve, 2008, I was released from Walpole State Prison, after serving 15 years of a 20 year sentence for good behavior for an “unmentionable” crime I allegedly committed when I was only 18. On parole, I took a job as a janitor at a Trappist monastery cloistered in the rural countryside of Massachusetts. I became friends with Francis, an aging monk, who told me he was hiding a centuries old secret, which may help unlock the mystery of faith and an ancient secret to forming a perfect union with God. This has changed my life, and my mission is to bring what I have learned to light....
